‘Mourinho got one thing right’: Man United fans praise McTominay show

Manchester United fans were thoroughly delighted with Scott McTominay‘s dominating performance during their 1-0 win over Kristiansund.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were expected to the thrash their Norwegian counterparts but instead only managed to scrape the victory by a penalty at the death.

United have now won all their pre-season fixtures so far with just AC Milan left before they begin their Premier League campaign against Chelsea.

Despite the low scoring end to the match, McTominay was fantastic and has continued to press the case for being the club’s outstanding pre-season performer.

With there being plenty of talk of the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff coming in, the young Scotsman is proving just why he should still get a place in the starting XI.

McTominay is bossing it 🔥

McTominay has improved so much recently rather than just winning and giving. Should be Matić’s replacement rather than playing next to him.

Scott McTominay’s strength on and off the ball is a real asset. In midfield, he will be valuable especially with his added tenacity.

McTominay is a little boss in that midfield. Mourinho actually got one thing right at least.

Scott McTominay in 60 minutes vs. Kristiansund:

100% tackles won

93% final third passes

92% pass accuracy

4 shots

2 interceptions

Unlucky not to score. 🙌 pic.twitter.com/3vbUu9yXkU

Scott McTominay is a very very good footballer.

With fans feeling Nemanja Matic is too static for Solskjaer’s dynamic and high energy tactics, Scott be set to have his breakthrough season this year.

In fact his manager has publicly demanded as much from him and based on what supporters have seen so far, it’s likely to happen.

Hopefully if any signings do come in, McTominay won’t be discouraged and Ole will still include him in the first-team as he is the Red Devils second best midfielder at the moment, behind Paul Pogba.
